Salim DADA’s Music & Culture

I am a composer, conductor, guitarist, and musicologist, deeply inspired by the dialogue between cultures and the arts. Since 1995, I have written more than 200 compositions — from symphonic and chamber works to film scores, opera, ballet, and pieces for voice, guitar, piano, and traditional instruments. My music has been performed by international orchestras, ensembles, and soloists around the world.
My path began with medicine before leading me to music, a journey that taught me to see art as both science and emotion. Trained in composition and conducting in Algeria, France, and Italy, I seek to build bridges between Algerian, Mediterranean, Arab, and African sounds and Western compositional techniques, shaping a musical language that feels both personal and universal.
I am also particularly interested in cultural project management, cultural policies, and the diversity of cultural expressions in the digital age. Since 2019, I have worked as a cultural expert with UNESCO (2005 Convention), as well as a cultural strategist for governments and international organizations, exploring how creativity and cultural policy can build a better world for culture and for artists.
Since 2023, through my agency CAP Culture, I have trained and mentored companies and leaders to strengthen their soft skills (communication, teamwork, and leadership) using music and the performing arts through a neuroscientific approach to enhance performance, creativity, and emotional intelligence.
